Midleton 26 Year Old
70cl / 40%
- Blended Irish Whiskey
A very rare and famous bottle of Midleton Irish Whiskey, distilled in 1973 at the Old Midleton distillery, matured in sherry and bourbon casks before being finished in a port pipe and bottled in 2000 to celebrate the distillery's 175th Anniversary. Only 1000 bottles of this treasure were produced, each signed by Max Crockett, Midleton's now-retired Master Distiller and father of current Master Distiller Barry Crockett.
Please note, that the bottle has damaged wax and the presentation box has missing key.
Midleton 26 Year Old Reviews
Complex on the nose, at once nutty and spicy. A wonderful depth of aroma, accentuated by hints of port wine and honey. A substantial well balanced bouquet where the dividends of long ageing are evident.
The overall effect is stunning, full bodied with a touch of sweetness. Complex spicy aromas linger on the palate, complementing each other intriguingly.
A long, satisfying finish with an aftertaste of heneyed wine and an echo of aged wood.
