Hiram Walker was founded in 1858 in Windsor Ontario by Hiram Walker, who distilled his first barrel of whisky in 1854. What set him apart from his competitors was his choice not to charcoal filter, a decision that would eventually make Canadian Club a worldwide staple. The company remained in the Walker family until 1926, and today Hiram Walker is the largest grain-to-glass distillery in Ontario
