Chris Blackwell, founder of Blackwell’s Rum, is also a world-famous music icon who formed Island Records in 1959. He is a decendant of one of the oldest merchant families, the Lindo family, who first came to the island of Jamaica in 1625. Before there was music, there was rum: the Blackwell family were traditionally involved in rum distilling.
