Highland Nectar began life as a Victorian-era brand setup by the Distiller's Company Ltd. The brand name was officially licensed in the 1880s and the two initial releases consisted of the Deluxe 12 Year Old and a Rare Old bottling. All of the blending and bottling took place in South Queensferry and production continued until at least the 1960s before its eventual discontinuation.
