For almost 200 years, Aberlour has made malt whisky on the banks of the River Spey. Though the passing decades have brought many changes to this old distillery, one thing has remained constant: its silky, fruity spirit that shows a particular affinity for sherry. This is especially evident in the robust Aberlour 18 Year Old which is finished in a combination of dry oloroso and sweet Pedro Ximenez casks.

Aberlour’s hallmark notes of dark fruit and toffee shine through the richer flavours imparted by the sherry casks. Making this a beautifully matured Speyside whisky of great texture and complexity – the sort of dram made for enjoying by the fire in good company.

Tasting notes

    • Nose

      Dried oranges and sultanas, then vanilla, almond oil and some fruit and nut chocolate.

    • Palate

      Stone fruit; peaches, nectarines and yellow plums. Orange liqueur, stem ginger, spiced fruit cake and chocolate biscuits. Very likeable.

    • Finish

      Long, with lingering notes of orange and caramel.
