An impressive new bottling today - an exclusive single cask from Midleton, distilled in 1991 and bottled at the end of last year. At almost 21 years old this is the oldest single pot still whiskey we've ever tried and one of a very small number of single cask whiskies to come out of the Midleton warehouses in recent times. Tim has more information about it and some tasting notes over on our blog . In summary - it's a bit of a fruit bomb.

The latest edition of Glenmorangie's very popular Private Edition annual releases is Glenmorangie Ealanta. The name means "skilled and ingenious", and Ealanta is perhaps the purest expression of Glenmorangie's wood policy since Astar, being entirely comprised of whisky that has been full-term matured in new virgin oak casks made with trees from the company's famous stash in the Ozark mountains. Ealanta is notable also as the first Private Edition to have a vintage (1993) and an age statement (19 year old). We can't wait to see how it's turned out.

Some very interesting whiskies today - a range of drams from New Zealand! Distilled at the Willowbank distillery, which closed down at the end of the 1990s and has since been demolished, these were bottled at the end of last year and have only just made their way to the UK.

We've just picked up a big stack of new Signatory bottlings - both in their Un-chillfiltered and Cask Strength collections.

Finally available - the 2012 Yamazaki collection, featuring the yearly releases of Sherry, Puncheon and Bourbon cask matured whisky as well as the new and much anticipated Mizunara.
