A very interesting and unique whisky from Bowmore has just been made available, and it's an exclusive to TWE - Bowmore 1980: The Queen's Visit. The cask was one of 10 American oak hogsheads filled alongside a sherry butt (which was then given to the Queen) during a visit to Bowmore by Her Majesty Elizabeth II. It was purchased by Jim Howat, Morrison Bowmore chairman of the time, and left in his will to the charitable trust that he and his wife set up. They've auctioned a few bottles and we are now selling the remaining 120 bottles filled from the cask.
