New Products

We've dug up some great new goodies for you this week, with party-size bottles from Glenmorangie and Compass Box and a clutch of lovely Nikkas (oooh, Matron!). And as if that wasn't enough, we've also got the beautiful boxed expression of Compass Box Hedonism Maximus as well. Never say we're not good to you. Not only that, but at last we have Ulf Buxrud's wonderful new book on Japanese whisky, so you can educate yourself while dramming Eastern-style. Meanwhile, over on the TWE Blog , our Octomore pictures from last week caused a bit of discussion. So here's a taster for the next post: 'To Coat Or Not To Coat?' "In the comments section of our last post on Octomore , drJarv (who I’m assuming is on the design team for Octomore as he hasn’t denied it yet!) asked for our thoughts on the coated opaque bottle that they’ve gone for with Octomore ( Bruichladdich fans will remember that both Blacker Still and Redder Still were similarly adorned with this coating). Poster bgulien immediately responded with a fair point that these coatings make it difficult to see how much whisky you have left. I decided to throw my tuppence-worth in and started to write a quick comment - but it kind of turned into a bit of a rant and opened up a bit of a can of worms, so I thought I’d do it as a new post and throw the floor open for discussion:" Exciting stuff, eh? Some more good stuff this week, including a sherried Port Ellen from Douglas Laing's McGibbon's Provenance range, a peated Famous Grouse and the return of two TWE favourites, Blue Hanger and John Glaser's sumptuous Orangerie. Plenty to be excited about too, as this week sees the official launch of the TWE Blog!!! This week we have a quick look at the sale of Glen Moray to French rum firm La Martiniquaise - plus some exclusive new pics of the soon-to-be-released Octomore and Port Charlotte PC7 from Bruichladdich - how cool is that?!
