Product Description

Amrut Fusion gets its name from the fact that it uses two barleys: Indian and Scottish - with the latter being peated for good measure. Fusion has been picking up awards ever since it first appeared in 2009, and in 2012 was named the best whisky for a Rob Roy in the Ultimate Cocktail Challenge in New York.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Fresh and tinned fruit – peaches, mangos, apricots, plus spicy cinnamon and clove, joined by aromas of Earl Grey tea and just a touch of smoke and sea spray.

    • Palate

A real hit of fresh fruit and citrus-orange notes, with black pepper and cinnamon adding a zingy layer of spice. Rich and refreshing; absolutely delicious.

    • Finish

The spice and fruit linger for a long time.

    Rob P,

OMG this stuff is dangerously good. Picked up a couple of bottles in Calgary just coz they were cheaper than BC. I love peated Islays and I like sherry speysides, this is no Islay nor speyside classic but hints at both. Delightful fruity, burnt sugar nose, Strong on the raisin and berry palate with the smoky peated barley lingering in the background, finishes with more brown sugar, berries and lingering peatiness. You can sense the tropical aging has concentrated the flavours and interaction with the oak aging it and giving up angel share well in advance of actual years. Dont know how old it is but tastes like a 14 - 18, if you can find one pick it up just for fun.

    Anonymous,

It has a bite to it and the peatiness if very prominent once you catch it. I had this neat, with a splash of water and watered down with still water and ice. Neat: It burns but has a good body. Spicy Splash: Peatiness comes out. Spice, honey Watered Down: Green apples. Lots and lots of green apples with smoke in the finish
