Aged for 12 years - the extra 6 years maturing in wood produces a darker spirit with more of the traditional characteristics of aged whiskies and a richer, more aromatic flavour.

I am a crown royal lover. I have tried many kinds of whiskey and bourbon. This one I found to be surprisingly smooth and flavourful. Definitely worth a second bottle.

Smooth and enjoyable, I enjoy my Whisky and have just ventured into American Rye Whisky having a son who is very versed in Canadian Whisky he put me onto CC 12 year old, tried it straight and the first thing that struck me was the colour and aroma, taste was definitely caramel and maple this went down very nicely I like this over the Crown range a nice mellow well matured Whisky and compliments a medium strength Cuban cigar ( for those of us that are old enough to defy political correctness !) glad I bought 2 bottles.

Smells a little sweet, almost like port. Lovely, darker colour - can almost catch a hint of maple, definitely caramel. Drink different whiskies from the Glenfiddich range almost exclusively, but was introduced to Canadian Club at 19 and have been a big fan of it, both straight and mixed with dry ginger for that time. This is naturally a step above. For an inexpensive blend, this represents exceptional value.

Nice and mellow, sweet with lots of caramel flavours. No ethanol mouth feel that I find with Gibsons and more flavour than Crown. I like it 4-5oz with a can of Canada Dry.

Always been a fan of Bushmills ( which is still great). Started drinking Old Fashioneds after a friend recommended them. Tried these with MakersMark, Woodford reserve etc... After speaking with a mixologist he said ''try one with a rye'' - so I did and it was Canadian Club.( I thought the brand had folded in the 80''s). What a revelation it was. I now ask for it all the time. Found a bottle of 12 year old while on holiday in Majorca and it is now my new favourite - really smooth and really good on its own as well. This is the future!!

I started out as a Crown Royal drinker. I loved my crown, but my husband begged me to find Classic 12 and try it. I must admit that I definitely prefer the Classic 12 now. We have also suggested it to friends. Thank you for such a smooth great tasting whiskey.

An incredibly smooth whisky. It does not burn in the slightest, it warms your throat on the way down without an aggressive kick like some other whisky''s may have. For the price, I don''t think it can be beat!

Lovely stuff. Like the CC 6 year old but richer and more intense; a nicer, thicker mouth feel. There's more of a wood flavour as you'd expect from the extra time spent in barrels. It seems a little sweeter than the 6 year old - I generally like things dry but I don't consider the slight extra sweetness to be a bad thing. I'd need to drink a few more before I decide whether it's really worth the extra money compared to standard CC - it's too good for mixing (probably - I will be having one with long with ice and soda at some point just to see). For drinking straight up I might be tempted to spend a bit extra on something else. I'm certainly not disappointed and I think it's fair to say that anyone who likes Canadian whisky could do worse than to give it a try.

My dad's been drinking CC for over 60 years, BUT I bought him the 12 year old for Fathers Day and he loved it!!!

I'll be honest I only bought it because they had no Jack Daniels left but this Whisky is not bad at all. Think I'm going to buy it again in the future.

I tried this today, excellent feel going down and exceptionally smooth.

I just tried this for the first. I can't believe how smooth, it is. I just had to post a review. Much better than crown (this from a 10 year crown lover). Very nice feel on the lips a warm going down. Very nice!

I have been drinking Crown Royal for years but when the price went up at my favorite liquor store I tried Classic 12. Since then I've maybe purchased 2 bottles (750 ml) of Crown. Classic 12 has less of a "bite" and I like the taste more. I don't know why this liquor isn't promoted more.

i normally drink glenfiddich 12yo but this whiskey is a nice alternative, when i walk into the bottle shop its hard to pick between the two. i like this whiskey on the rocks or neat very smooth

a great and versatile rye. It should be noted that some of the reviewers here are comparing this against scotch, which is a totally different spirit. If you're looking to improve the rye you drink, or are just finally sick of the corn mash that is bourbon... this is for you.
