Product Description
A hugely sought-after bottling even today, Ardbeg Very Young was the first general release of spirit produced at the distillery after the Glenmorangie takeover in 1997. The spirit for Very Young was distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2004 at cask strength. A smash hit at the time and a very desirable cult classic ever since.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Tim F
N
Floral notes, citrus (esp. grapefruit), green beans & hot-buttered corn on the cob.
P
Big and strong but well-rounded. A big, big chilli hit, with plenty of coal and lemon juice. Then the peat comes roaring through. Absolutely massive palate. Literally mouth-watering, becomes very briney.
F
Long. Very spicy and the lemon tang lingers as well.
With water, nose seems sweeter, spices are more prominent and the palate becomes nuttier.
Comment
Not the most subtle malt you're ever going to try, but it's hard not to love this boisterous dram. Massive peat and spices make this a hugely enjoyable whisky.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Aromas of spice, smoke, earth and lemongrass. Sharp, spicy mouthfeel. Sooty, peppery, charcoal and carbolic soap. Raw and earthy.

Customer Reviews
Wow, wish I'd held onto this when I bought it for 29.99 at Oddbins in early 05. Really super stuff though, I drank it with a little bit of ice and a splash of water and derived much pleasure from it. Astonished at the price now.
