Product Description
This lightly peated, core-range ten-year-old single malt from Benromach is a great introduction to the progressive Speyside distillery's signature style. Its classic toffee and spice sherried character is complemented by well integrated peaty flavours, while still leaving plenty of room for lively, vibrant citrus and apple notes on the palate.
Benromach 10 is one of my favourite things – sherried Speyside single malt with a lick of peat smoke. I think this is a whisky that punches well above its price point, and I love its complexity, integration and fruity, smoky flavours. It’s like a tucking into a toffee apple around the bonfire. Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Rocky
Nose
Toffee and butterscotch with hints of liquorice and green apple.
Palate
The liquorice and green apple continue from the nose, joined by a maltiness, smoke and spicy cardamom and white pepper.
Finish
Warming, with the fruit and spice slowly dissipating to leave a delightful malty smokiness.
Comment
Benromach have succeeded in their aim of going back to the classic Speyside style of the 1960s, and the whisky has a very traditional feel about it.
Tasting Notes by Whiskyfun (Serge Valentin)
Nose
You know what, this greasiness and this mineral smokiness just cannot not make us think of modern Springbank, which can’t be bad news. I find some smoked tea, touches of truffles, graphite oil, quite some fresh barley (or is that porridge?) and quite some raw wool and grass. Old school for sure!
Mouth
Excellent, smoky, mineral, phenolic, waxy and displaying various citrus fruits without any excessive sweetness. Excellent body at 43% vol. Then more liquorice, a little sweet mustard (cassis flavoured like they make in Burgundy) and quite some bitter oranges.
Finish
Quite long, smoky, with notes of agaves and minerals.
Comments
Tastes like a true islander. We used to say that Lochside was the Springbank of the east, now it’s rather Benromach. I’m a fan. Same score as before. SGP:553 - 87 points.

Excellent if you like the flavour profiles shown. Wouldn't say it was a daily sipper but definitely a special occasion dram, a very well balanced whisky.
A good SM for a great price. Mildly smoky with a strong peppery bite, Finishes with a long liquorice note. Well worth the purchase.
Rather good..very sherry, wisp of smoke and maybe liquorice,so everyone wont like this..but overall rather good..think I actually prefer this to Cask Strength, which I tried in October.
Having had a gift of the Benromach 10 yrs aged 43% it's an absolutely lovely smooth Malt Whisky to have with 'very very' little water. Will definitely buy this product again.
Wow! Tried it in a bar in Pitlochry, brought a bottle home. A fantastic balanced whisky that I’ll buy again and again
