I bought it in 1995 for my 30th at the distillery for £75 , it was delicious, my favourite of all time and finished it on my 40th. I should have bought a case or 2 given how much it is now, no chance of me enjoying this for my 50th but if anyone can afford it, you will enjoy it.

Fascinating! Picked this up years ago in Inveraray and finally opened it on my 50th. A smell of grappa- soaked raisins is followed by a taste is bitter oranges, then an intense floral taste (think middle-aged Bowmore) and a long oily, seaweedy sherry taste on the swallow. I've never tasted anything quite like it. I believe that this was one of 10 whiskys that Michael Jackson scored 90 or more in the second edition of the Malt Whisky Companion. If you find a bottle, pick it up.
