Jack Daniel's Old No.7
Product Description

There's a strong argument to be made for Jack Daniel's Old No.7 being the most recognisable whiskey on the face of the earth, and you don't get that kind of recognition without good reason.

Made to a recipe dating back more than a century, painstakingly filtered through maple charcoal for purity and flavour, and then matured in charred oak barrels, the classic JD's sweet and oaky flavour has inspired generations of drinkers to enjoy whiskey.

The Lincoln County Process

One of the defining features in the production of Jack Daniel's whiskey is the Lincoln County Process. During this process, maple timbers are carefully burned to create pellets of charcoal. These pellets are then filled into vats, through which freshly-distilled Jack Daniel's is then filtered in order to remove remaining impurities, impart flavour and achieve the whiskey's famed mellow mouthfeel. Only once the spirit has undergone this traditional process is it filled into quality oak barrels for ageing.

    Michalus,

Jack Daniel's Original- my opinion about it changed with time. If smoothness is your name of the game- this is your king! The first time I tried it 10 years ago- I would NOT believe there could be anything better than JD, regardless how you drink it: mixer/ice/no ice. I loved it! When I started to look for more taste though, I realized that other American whiskies have more taste. To me charcoal filtering takes away a lot of taste that other American whiskies have. These days I would go for Evan Williams, Wild Turkey or Four Roses. But still- JD is a decent whiskey, can't deny it!

    Stunning_letter.,

One of the finest whiskey of all time...I don't think any other whiskey brand has this kind of crazy about it.

    Tom,

I think it gets a lot of stick because it's popular, but it's popular for a reason. I think that reason is that it's inoffensive. If you've tried nicer bourbons or scotch (any other nice whisky) then you will see the difference - it's just "watery" to me.. I drank a bottle of it (not at once) to see what it was all about, won't get another but it's not like it's awful..

    Anonymous,

I always taste a hint of banana when I drink this. I am a beginner whisky drinker but I always sip mine neat. This is the only whisky that gives me a headache the next day. Banana note and stringent cough medicine taste/feel in my mouth. If this is the only whisky available, I will drink a different spirit or not drink. I despise Jack Daniels.
