      Lighter oak and drier on the nose than Old No.7. Vanilla, brown sugar, maple and apple.

    • Palate

      Sweet vanilla, stone fruits and apple.

      Subtle oak that develops into a smooth finish of fruit with maple and floral honey.

The Gentleman Jack Whiskey Sour

  • Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack

Though certainly suited to sipping neat or on ice, Gentleman Jack is just as happy in a classic Whiskey Sour cocktail. Add 50ml of Gentleman Jack, a generous squeeze of lemon juice and a dash or two each of sugar syrup and your favourite bitters to a cocktail shaker, along with plenty of ice. Give everything a thorough shake, strain into a rocks glass, garnish with a wedge of lemon and enjoy.

    At Lynchburg distillery they do the right thing to draw customers who enjoyed JD No.7. In Gentleman Jack the smoothness level is turned up a notch compared to No.7. due to double charcoal mellowing. Is it for the better or for worse? Many people enjoy the extra smoothness which comes with even less impurities. On the other hand, this removes some of the smell and taste qualities given by the production process. There will be many whiskey lovers who will not be ready to fork out extra cash for less taste. I'm in this group. To each their own.

    I don't like regular JD but this is very smooth with a sweet palette, honey and marzipan flavours and a citrus finish. Very good.

    Gentleman Jack. Not surprising why Jack Daniels are about the most well known whiskey. Nothing harsh very easy to drink. Does not need to be mixed with anything, you can go without ice. It is very good liquid gold. (Y)
