A gift boxed bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel – a richer variation of JD, with less sweetness and more power than the No.7. A favourite in bars, this is a must for aficionados.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

Nose: Toasty notes from the oak, and well-defined aromas of honeyed fruit and golden syrup. Rich, but still clean and precise, with an appealing nuttiness.

Palate: Drier than expected, this is a big-hitting bourbon, with broad brush strokes of honey, popcorn and cinnamon, countered by punchy, peppery notes, some numbing clove notes, and toasty oak. Less sweet than the No.7, and all the better for it.

Finish: Spicy fruit and oak persists.

  • Tasting Notes by Billy A

Nose: Rich and sweet-smelling with golden syrup, demerara sugar, polished and varnished old furniture, nougat, pleasing leafy herbs, fennel, liquorice and sugared almonds.

Palate: Spicy initially, followed by a wave of oak and honey; it becomes very leafy next, with the herbal notes in the background, before a secondary wave of sweet clove-flavoured rock and wood glue.

Finish: Great length, with a tingling herby spiciness and fading honeyed sweetness.

While there are some very shins from bottle to bottle, this is always been one of my favorites. Extremely smooth, lots of toasted oak and a mild honey sweetness with no burning aftertaste.

I had to get a second bottle! You have to try this! You only live once, so don't think twice. Just enjoy this excellent whiskey!

For those that claim differences between TN whiskey and bourbon. The distinction is a matter of appellation. TN whiskies conform with the criteria for bourbon and since using the Lincoln process is not uncommon for bourbons and an exception for one of the 4 distillers, it makes the point moot. Furthermore, even legally the definition of TN whiskey in NAFTA includes the word bourbon. In terms of a review, this is an excellent product from the bottle to the last drop with a very complex profile that range from very sweet notes and vanilla in the nose and opening to a lingering aftertaste with charred character and toffee and long lasting oakiness. Fruit and fusel notes are also perceived as a part of the profile. Remember that the exact balance will change from cask to cask.

JD No.7''s big brother! It is quality all the way, from the packaging to the last drop. A proper grown up whiskey with a good oaky hit. No.7 is for mixers, single barrel just needs another single barrel

Make no mistake this is a good whiskey,a big step up from old no7. This whiskey is a lot smoother and obviously aged for a considerably longer period. Is it worth the extra money ?I would say yes and will definitely purchase again. However from financial prospective four roses small batch is a great a buy,and very close in terms of quality.

Right.... 47% in the USA, 45% in Blighty. Keep on diluting boys. I made my choices. I can get water from the tap for free.

Avid Jack Daniels Enthusiast. Drink from the standard No.7 to the likes of Sinatra. But this, has got to be one of my favourite. Lovely full bodied taste, very rich and goes down very smoothly. Only problem is how smoothly, before you know it, your ice trays empty and the bottles gone.

Bottle is lovely but neat or with water just tastes like regular JD to my (admittedly uneducated if very, very used to JD palette.) Still, heavenly with a good, natural ginger beer.

"OH WOW", just recieved this,11.30am on mon, 15th dec, ordered on thurs 11th, the packaging is brilliant a solid cardboard box absolutely jammed packed with small spongey polystirene pieces surrounding the whiskey, which was in its own gift box as shown in the ad pic, the gift box is fantastic it''s realy strdy and thick- 2cm to be precise, the bottle is about 8.5" high and fits snuggley inside, the outside of the box at first quick glance you would think it was leather, if you have any doubts about ordering because of quality don''t, it makes the perfect gift which is why i purchased this so i can''t comment on the taste, but i say, buy buy.

It doesn''t get much better. It would be a shame to mix this whiskey with anything but a little ice way to Jack

This is my go to Whiskey whenever I want to just relax and sip. This single barrel has turned many whiskey snobs that look down to JD products into Single Barrel believers. This has to be one of the best whiskey when you factor in the low price.
