A mellow, aromatic dry gin from Booth's that has been aged in casks that previously held Pedro Ximenez sherry. The palate offers notes of rosemary, grapefruit, camphor, lemon, chamomile and soft oak spice that linger in the finish.
Booth's was originally established in 1740 by the eponymous family who founded the first distillery in London. Their distinctively golden gin - instantly recognisable thanks to the octagonal bottles it was presented in - was discontinued in the 1970s, an event much lamented by gin connoisseurs.
About Booth's

Booth’s Gin was founded in 1740 when the Booth family, already established as wine merchants for two centuries, set up a distillery in London’s Clerkenwell. Over the next 200 years the popularity of Booth’s gin grew, and by the 20th century was one of the biggest names in the gin world. A key factor in this popularity was Booth’s distinctive yellow colour, which it gained from a short maturation in oak barrels, especially those which had previously contained sherry. Booth’s eventually disappeared from the market in 2017, but it was not gone for long.
Booth's Today

Booth’s Dry Gin has now been relaunched, landing on shelves again in July 2022. The new owner – Sazerac, already famed for its range of much-loved whiskeys and spirits – has recreated the original Booth’s recipe, giving the same juniper-forward character that it was always known for. Along with that, Booth’s Dry Gin also still has its trademark yellow colour and hint of oak maturation thanks to ageing in casks which previously held Pedro Ximénez, a very rich, sweet style of sherry.

A welcome return for one of the most iconic gins of all-time. A proper, old-fashioned London gin - the total opposite of many of the modern flavoured gins and all the better for it. Makes a superb G&T and also excellent with Dubonnet if you want to recreate the late Queen Elizabeth II's favourite tipple.
