Cocchi Americano Aperitivo
Product Description

Sending the UK cocktail fraternity into a frenzy of anticipation, the famed Cocchi Americano has finally hit these shores.

It's acclaimed as the most credible alternative to the long-discontinued Kina Lillet due to its high levels of cinchona, the fiercely bitter bark used to make quinine. This makes Cocchi Americano essential in recreating James Bond's Vesper Martini and the legendary Corpse Reviver #2 from The Savoy Cocktail Book.

A big and orangey aperitif, in a similar style to Lillet Blanc, it also has a big quinine bitterness that makes it an essential cocktail ingredient.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Big, sweet and weighty, with rich aromas of cherry and peach, refreshed with a green herbal note.

    • Palate

Warm, appetising cherry-menthol notes, with roasted almonds and a clean grassy note to balance things out.

    • Finish

The ripe, rich fruit contrasts well with the clean herbs.

  • Tasting Notes by Billy A

    • Nose

Spicy and sweet, with orange blossom, cherry bubblegum and a hint of bitter herbs.

    • Taste

Cloves and cinnamon with rich fruit and green herbs. A long woody finish, with a balance between sweet fruit and bitterness giving way to the bitter cinchona bark as it fades.

    Keith Macfarlane,

As a long time enjoyer of Lillet white, I cam late to this from reading how it approaches the taste of the original Lillet. I cannot confirm that never having tasted the old Lillet, but I can say this is fantastic, and much drier than current Lillet. It has become a staple for my perfect Rob Roys (not a boast, perfect meaning equal whiskey, Cocchi and red Martini quantities), and the occasional Vesper.
