A giant leap forward for Bunnahabhain 12yo, this edition was launched in summer 2010 with a jump in strength to 46.3% and a declaration of no chill-filtration and no added colouring. The producers deserve enormous credit for giving punters what they want without jacking up the price too much and we earnestly hope that this will be a massive success. Bravo!Tasting Notes (1)
Tasting Notes by Billy A
Briny and earthy, with camphor, apples, sea salt, a hint of oranges and salted caramel.
Syrupy in texture with vanilla and a light smokiness, more woody than peaty. Water brought out more sweet creamy vanilla and some perfume from the wood, as well as some sticky glacé cherry.
Dry with woody spice.

Needs the correct amount of water to unlock this one.Tried 2ml first not much. Then next 3ml,a bit more.Third time a full 5ml.Bingo! salt on the tip of the tongue and open up it did.An ace malt and well worth a week's perseverance.
Horrendous! All I am getting is the aftertaste of paint and alcohol , probably worst whisky I have ever tasted and I have tried many especially in this price range .
Excellent whisky, one of my favourites. The usual sherry notes, but with a hint of peat and a very smooth, rich creamy tastes. Hints of cocoa as well, especially in the aftertaste. Wonderful. (If, as below, you find it burns, that might be the 46pc. I'd recommend adding 1/4 parts filtered water, makes it an even smoother dram)
Very good whisky indeed. Rich, fruity, smooth, creamy a little bit of warming wood. Comparable to Balvenie doublewood 17yo at about half the price. Buy 6!
Was previously gifted this Whiskey and I am unsure if I just got a bad batch but it is up to date the worst whiskey I have ever to have tried. The flavor palate advertised simple does not exist, with the drink simply creating a strong burn and nothing more. Would not recommend to anyone from my experience from the gifted bottle.
