Peaty whisky from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, named after a previous incarnation of the distillery. Maritime and smoky, this rivals some of the Islay drams for power, and the 10 year old balances the intensity of youth with rounded, well-aged spirit.

This is every bit as good as your Islay whisky. A really well balanced Smoky savoury dram.

Love this dram, smoke peat, salt, leather, heather and coastal aromas, in this little storm in a glass. A staple in my collection and my vote in this years OSWA awards. My love as always to the packers at TWE.

Fabulous all ways round. 46% ABV, no E150a and a great colour. Mellow peat, smoke, citrus and sweetness. Good with a drop of water and ideal with a little ice.It occupies a real niche between the less robust Islay malts and Talisker with the oiliness and body of Springbank or Longrow. Absolutely superb value at the price given its ABV.

My friend gave me this as a blind test. It tasted like whole Islay in one dram. Laphroaig, Ardbec, Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Port Charlotte, Bowmore... all those notes were there, in the end I was guessing it has to be Big Peat (never had it before though). When he told me this is not Islay I could not believe it. It is very fresh and rich whisky, the one you can drink every day and you don't have enough or the one you can finish within one night. Can't wait to try 18y, as a blind test with my friend again, maybe.
