Product Description

A remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon-based dessert wine, made by storing sour cherries with sugar in the sun, then drawing off the juice. The cherries are then added to barrels of red grape must before fermentation, before being drained off and the sugared cherry juice returned to the wine barrels to vinify for another 6 months before bottling. Fantastic stuff on its own, and works particularly well in cocktails.

    A nice sweet wine with a disgrace of a cork, falling in crumbs no matter how fine a blade work this Doctor could do to extract it after the corkscrew had proven its uselessness. I had to filter the whole lot. Such a shame!

    This is quite exceptional. The cherry flavour and nose are both delicious, and the red wine ensures the perfect effect. We have now stacked up with a number of bottles as presents. We've never been so sure of really genuine thanks from the recipients!

    We have this in our area of Italy. I made an adaptation of a sloe gin recipe this year using wild sour cherries, sugar and vodka which went down very well with my Italian friends
