A Cypriot wine with history, named after the 11th-century Knights of St John who it seems were fans. A sweet, oaky and richly fruity dessert wine.

Many years ago this was a regular tipple at Christmas in our house. I always preferred it to sherry. I did not know that it was still available

Made from black and white Cypriot grapes. A delicious wine which was served at the following event: Before leaving Cyprus while on crusade, Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre, Spain. The wedding was held in Limassol on 12 May 1191 at the Chapel of St. George. The marriage was celebrated with great pomp and splendour, many feasts and entertainments, and public parades and celebrations followed commemorating the event. This wine has been very popular in England ever since. Enjoy!
