Product Description
While it’s not often seen here in the UK, Cardhu is the biggest selling single malt whisky in Spain, with its soft, sweet character the perfect match for the warm climate. A much-loved distillery, it makes easygoing, charming Speyside whiskies, and its 12 Year Old is a perfect introduction to the style. With clean, crisp oak and sweet malt evoking flavours of honeyed flapjacks and homemade caramel squares, this is one for the sweet-toothed.
This is a soft and mellow single malt, and I love the way it just melts in your mouth with a beautiful texture, and delicious apple and honeydew melon flavours. Ashish Basnet, The Whisky Exchange

Tasting Notes by Stuart P
-
Nose
Sweet and fruity, with aromas of grilled pineapple, honey-soaked pears and fresh melon. Notes of cut grass, hay and ripe mango, too – very appetising.
-
Palate
Soft, silky mouthfeel, with plenty of pineapple and mango up front, followed by honey, banana and toffee, with some dried-fruit and vanilla richness. Very approachable, but still decent levels of complexity.
-
Finish
Soft and fruity, with the raisin and honey notes lingering the most.

-
Producer's Notes
-
Appearance
Golden honey.
-
Nose
At full strength, heady, nose prickle, pear drops and tightly integrated heather, resin and sweet honey-nut notes. Enticing. Intriguing. With a little water, still harmonious but less pronounced, allowing some malt-cereal, soft, spicy wood, moorland and faint traces of wood-smoke to appear.
-
Body
Soft, pleasing, medium.
-
Palate
Palate Well balanced, smooth mouthfeel; short punch, sweet and fresh, then a pronounced drying effect. Enjoyable at any time, with little or no water.
-
Finish
Quite short. Some lingering sweet smoke in the attractive, drying aftertaste.

Thoroughly enjoy it, personally. A dram a day most recommended.
-
I highly recommend if someone starts their adventure with whiskey, I drink it warm very well.
-
I've tried the 12y/o Cardhu. It was smooth with a subtle honey finish . This whiskey had a good flavour and I look forward to the older and more mature Cardhu's.
-
Very average 12yo whisky, with nothing distinctive about its taste
