Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Dave Broom for Whisky Magazine
Nose
Ripe with some woodsmoke, mulch/humus. Sweet, rich and deep hints of sulphur.
Palate
Soft and long. Tomato puree, treacle toffee and gravy browning. Deep and intense with grip.
Finish
Long, firming.
Comments
Yes there's sulphur but it's not off-putting for me.

Tasting Notes by Martine Nouet for Whisky Magazine
Nose
Sherried. Dense. Damp warehouse or more precisely cider cellar. Burnt wood. Earthy. Moss. Fig syrup. Coffee and walnut cake.
Palate
Sweet and mellow at start then the wood prevails. Huge wave of liquorice. Eau-de-vie cherries in dark chocolate.
Finish
Lingering, nutty and chocolatey.
Comments
A well balanced sherried whisky. Rich, complex with a beautiful finish.

Disappointed with the flavour. It is rather flat, and not that interesting. The 18 yr old Is far better. However, this one needs time in the glass to be fully appreciated
Very good, but personally I prefer the 18yo which is much cheaper as well
The platonic ideal of sherry matured malt. The Pedro Ximenez maturation gives a different more distinguished sweetness than the 18.It really opens up the nose with one or two drops of water.Absolutely would buy again.
Excellent, I would like to have some more one day, but not allowed! ,that’s a shame.
A fantastic sherry-focused whisky. To me this is the perfect balance of aromatic sherry intensity, sweetness and complexity. This is a sherry bomb ,with the only criticism I could level at it being that its not really better than the 18 year old, while being quite a bit more expensive. Then again it lacks the "bitter" tannic kick that many people find undesirable (Red wine drinkers like me may find it more than fine) and is a bit sweeter.
