This is a significant step up from Martel VS. As good as Hennessey VSOP, very smooth and rich, deep cognac. I also like the Martel XO but the VSOP will be a firm favourite on the shelf for well over half the price.
A sharp intake of fresh breath compared to VS. Lovely colour, good nose, not the world's smoothest- but- a lovely one! I will be drinking it as long as possible.
Good one, nothing to say. But compared to its competitors Martell VSOP is less complex, medium smooth and there is some tiny artificial sugary note in the taste.
This is one of the best tasting VSOP Cognacs of my choice. So smooth and mellow, you literally just need 2 ice cubes over it. Such a great taste and smoothness, you would easily end up drinking more than expected.
An ok cognac if you're looking for something to drink neat but is excellent if you're looking for something to make great cocktails with. This is my choice of cognac for making top tier Sidecars, Harvards, and Corpse Revivers. Giving a rating of 4 stars because there are other cognacs that can work almost as well in cocktails for much cheaper.
