Product Description
A 1965 vintage Macallan from veteran independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail. Bottled in 2012 at well over 45 years of age, this was aged in a first fill sherry butt. As can be seen from the producer's tasting notes below, this is a classic 1960s sherried Speyside with notes of citrus, vanilla and butter fudge.

Producer's Note
Taste without water
Initially sweet, with hints of dark chocolate, smooth, with a defined freshness present. Hints of menthol linger. Gentle and very smooth.
Aroma with water
Burst of coconut aromas, subtle hints of vanilla and gorse bush notes emerge. More fruity with a defined citrus edge. Hints of butter fudge also emerge.
Taste with water
Sweet initially, with a very delicate hint of mixed spices developing. Touch of dark chocolate lingers.
Comment
Aroma without water: Sweet wine aromas, some vanilla and a defined cocoa bean nose emerges. Hints of soft fruits linger in the background. Well balanced.
