Blandy's Duke of Cumberland Madeira is a tinta negra wine and a close equivalent to a Boal Madeira wine. Boal is medium sweet as is Duke of Cumberland. The Duke is smooth and best served lightly chilled and goes well with cheese - stonger ones such as a mature Brie or Camembert for example, with a little quince jelly are just perfect. Mushrooms sauteed in Duke of Cumberland are also very good indeed. Madeira wine deserves to be better known and the Blandy's Duke wines are a great place to start discovering them.
