Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by the Whisky Exchange
Nose
Cinder toffee, chocolate, salted caramel, dried fruit and a hint of rose-water Turkish Delight.
Palate
Stewed raisins, sweet caramel and more of the gentle floral rosiness, with smoky burnt toffee.
Finish
Long and smoky, with the sweetness fading to reveal cocoa.
Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose
Crunchie bars, Turkish Delight rosiness, rich salty caramel, touches of dried fruit. Quite light and fresh for a Port finished whisky.
Palate
More Turkish Delight bars, heavy on the rosewater, stewed raisins, lots of caramel sweetness and a smoky burnt toffee/treacle note.
Finish
Smoke pops up more on the finish, with sweetness slowly fading to biscuity wood (chocolate digestives).
Comment
This is definitely not your regular Talisker – loads of oily sweetness as well as floral note that came through as Turkish Delight for me (specifically Fry’s). If you like wine finished whisky, then this will be right up your street.
Tasting Notes by Tim F
Nose
Chocolate, turf, raisins. All quite rich and upfront, with red wine plumminess coming through strongly. Some putty and dusty notes. Reveals bandagey, Jaffa cake and bramble aromas with time in the glass.
Palate
Wine-like berry fruit, much more fruity than expected from the nose. Also wet peat, spongecake with damson jam, chocolate raisins, earth, burnt gingerbread. The peat smoke is much more evident on the palate than the nose.
Finish
Drying and gets a bit dusty with wet oak, but some cocoa notes save it. Marinated raisins, prunes, dried mud and chocolate shavings.

Customer Reviews

Honestly, not what I was hoping for based on description, tasting notes and reviews. Best way I can describe it… disconnected… through the stages. It tastes more like a blended than a single malt. That may sound strange, but it does. Not as smooth as I’d hoped and it has a bit of a salty and vinegary finish to it.
Reall enjoy the sweetness that lingers. just the right amout of "smokyness"
I am a massive fan of Talisker whisky and this one is superb.
Weird whisky, this one. The Talisker Storm is a thousand times better.
One of the better tastes for a very fair price. Slight smokey taste and aroma with a very small tinge of port.
