A full 60% abv, yet the sweet, rich, spicy distillery character is still very much in evidence. A very small drop of water is recommended to open up the flavours.Tasting Notes (1)
When Christmas came to Glenfarclas, former distillery chairman George S Grant would select a single cask from the warehouses to share with his friends and family. He bottled these whiskies at their natural strength, a gesture of generosity and a testament to the quality of the spirit. They proved so popular that in 1968, Glenfarclas became the first distillery to introduce a cask strength bottling to its core range. This pioneering whisky would ultimately become the iconic Glenfarclas 105 – vatted to a strength of 60% for a pure expression of the distillery’s richly sherried character.
George S Grant became chairman of Glenfarclas in 1949, taking on the distillery that had been in his family since 1865. Over a 52-year career, he saw the old Speysider through good times and bad, guided always by unwavering faith in the quality of his whisky. It was this conviction that saw him move away from selling to blenders and focus on laying down single malt for future generations. Glenfarclas is still in the Grant family and remains independent to this day.

Producer's Tasting Notes
Complex, oaky, apples and pears, and a tempting dark toffee sweetness.
Dry and assertive, develops quickly to reveal a rich spiciness, combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit.
Amazingly smooth for the strength; wonderfully warming and with a lingering smokiness, yet very rounded.
A great whisky holding all the flavours of all the Glenfarclas in one glass. Being so warming, this is the perfect Hogmanay dram. Don’t be afraid of the strength and order a 210, if you dare!
The smoothness makes the 105 drinkable at cask strength, but I suggest adding a little water to fully explore its great depth.

This whisky is delicious! If you add a little bit of water, it gets even better. Try it!
I love this bottle, the sweet taste of bramble jelly!and the hit of the spot on 60%,volume, I rate this excellent bottle 10/10
Brought this for hubby's 60th je has said its beautifully smooth but very strong definitely just a nightcap
Great whisky, great value. It only needs a drop of water and the preserved fruit and sherry comes out. It is not as complex and refined as A'bunadh, but probably better value at the current pricing. If you think your collection needs a sherry monster this could be it - but get the litre bottle.
After browsing drinks by the dram for some miniatures to sample before buying a bottle i came across this, truthfully it was the % that lured me in. But wow im so glad i did will definitely purchase a bottle beautiful whiskey smokey smell and a lovely sherry cask flavouring.
