Immensely popular Glenfiddich variant. Using a Solera system common in the maturation of quality sherry, 15yo malt from three different types of casks is married together in a wooden vat, which is constantly topped up to ensure the quality is maintained.Tasting Notes (1)
Producer's Tasting Notes
Golden, a red hue.
An intriguingly complex aroma. Sweet heather honey and vanilla fudge combined with rich dark fruits.
Silky smooth, revealing layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Full-bodied and bursting with flavour.
Satisfyingly rich with lingering sweetness.

A bit less powerful on the nose than what I was expecting, almost underwhelming. A very smooth tasting whisky though, but with enough sweet fruity sherry influence and subtle complexity to keep it interesting. A good day to day sipping whisky, this is similar to the rich oak I had a couple of years ago but I think I preferred that just slightly, it had a bit more going on with the extra complexity from the wood influence. Overall I can’t complain too much, it goes down an absolute treat by the fire with a mince pie :)
Im no whisky tasting expert, but I like to look at the tasting notes and see if I can find them. Im really disappointed with the 15. Its pretty bland in my opinion. Not finding any of the tasting notes. Im not getting much on the nose either. I prefer the 12 year bottle.
A straight up sherried whisky, not bad but nothing great, next.
I bought the Glenfiddich as a present for my brother in law. I am unable to make a review but I know he was very pleased receiving this particular whiskey.
