Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose
Sweet but pungent - floral touches and sour apples, with creamy porridge behind. Candy sweetness (barley sugar and toffees) sits behind, along with some darker leathery notes.
Palate
Sweet again, with a big kick of flavour - cream toffees and wine gums. Mouth-watering, with apple skin dryness and more fruitiness developing into light spice and vanilla cream.
Finish
Some dry wood, spice, warming aniseed and herbal touches - mint?.
Comment
Lots of fruit and a nice kick of spice - a great winter warmer, but light, sweet and fruity with it.
Producer's Note
Nose
Sweet and spiced with a gentle waft of smoke. Roast gammon with a marmalade glaze. Warm pastry, a bit like an egg custard tart with grated nutmeg. Hints of dark chocolate, mocha, and dark cherries. For those that fondly remember their school dinners, toffee cream tart!! Yummy!.
Palate
Creamy and slightly buttery with notes of vanilla and toffee. Sweet, spicy, malty and oaky. Tropical fruits but also a hint of that 70’s classic Black Forest Gateau! Again, toffee cream tart. Long malty finish which runs from sweet to spicy and then dry.

Well balanced between sweet and smokey, plenty of flavour with little after taste and very dry on the way down with no hint of burn. Delicious and very drinkable.
A really great whisky and easily beats most Scotch at this price point. The aroma profile is definitely something unique, in a good way - spicy but herbal, sweet but very savoury. Addictive!
I tasted this at the distillery, spiced apple pie with butterscotch and custard with an lingering grain finish......like most of the st George's beautifully crafted
very nice aromatic malt
Awesome !!!!
