The entry level release from Tasmania's Hellyers Road distillery. Named after the 'Roaring Forties' winds which bring in the rainwater used in the production of the whisky, this is matured in American white oak barrels.

Given this as a Christmas present as I like to try single malts from different parts of the globe. This has a loveLy aroma with hints of oak and peat but delicate and light nonetheless . Very smooth and an initial lift before a smooth after taste. An excellent whisky and well worth a try.

Tried this once, tasted like the water from a bathtub in a house that had burnt down.

Very smooth easy to drink. Didn't know Tasmania produced whisky but definately recommend it.

A very interesting whisky. Nose: Exotic fruits, sweet pears, peach, & apricot. Palate: Toffee, oak & faint smoke Finish: Caramel mouth coating & lasting warmth.
