Chamarel are based on the south west coast of Mauritius. This is their gold rum, which is aged for 18 months in oak. A subtle rum which can be drunk neat with ice, or topped with sparkling water as an aperitif.

I bought a bottle of this on my recent honeymoon in Mauritius and am delighted to find it is available to buy in the UK! This rum is delightful - particularly if you drink it from a cognac glass and warm the spirit, i.e. if you treat it as a "sugar cane cognac". There are all sorts of flavours in there, such as caramelised bananas. I'll definitely be buying another bottle once my current one runs out.
