For us, Dild Akvavit is the only drink of choice with Danish open sandwiches.

Dild Akvavit is a light, but intensely dill flavored akvavit that is perfect with Scandinavian style seafood, like gravlax. We first had it in Copenhagen and liked it so much we now routinely import it (to the US, where it's unavailable in retail). Highly recommended!

We typically drink this to accompany a Scandinavian style seafood starter preceding our Christmas Day dinner. It really complements herring, Gravad Lax (smoked salmon) and most seafood starter dishes. Previously we have relied on a Swedish friend to pick this up when in Copenhagen. Good to know we can get it here in UK via The Whisky Exchange

I first drank Aalborg Dild Akvavit in Iceland and loved it so much that I carted home a bottle. Unfortunately, I have heard it's no longer in stock ... a real shame as it's fabulous!
