I was blown away by this. I'd heard it was a good Irish single grain. But I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is. It's pretty heavy handed, very luscious and luxurious. Very sweet but this is immediately followed by a load of spice and pepper. Mouth feel is thick, almost a bit syrupy. The sauvingnon comes through really boozy and decadent. There's a butter there too. Like when butter and maple syrup blend together on a hot pancake. It's almost overwhelming how decadent and luxurious this comes across, it's almost too much. Almost. But there is a load of complexity to stop it from tipping into the dessert realm. It feels like you should drink it dressed in crushed velvet and wearing a monocle. I love Irish whiskey, this is pretty special for the price, but if the sweet side of things turns you off, it might not be for you. I think it's worth having for when you want to feel like a total lounge lizard.

Really enjoyed this Irish single grain whisky, I would go as far to say one of the best single grain whiskies I've ever had, and adding water only helps elevate the experience. Certainly helps being a hight alcoholic strength and non-chill filtered, solid 4.5 stars.
