One of the most famous malts in the world. Glenlivet 12yo has a soft smooth balance of sweet summer fruits and the floral notes of spring flowers.Tasting Notes (2)
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Grassy and floral, with a delicate perfume. Soft citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit, joined by nutty notes of almond and hazelnut.
Soft mouthfeel with elegant orange and lemon notes, then some vanilla and toffee adding richness, but this is a delicate, fine-boned single malt with lovely balance and a refreshing character.
The juicy citrus notes linger, inviting you to take another sip.

Really surprised how good this whisky was - very smooth with a beautiful long finish - got it on a special offer and hard to beat at the price I paid - can highly recommend!
Smooth, easy drinking, prune/raisin/cocoa flavor, but in a light way, with vanilla sweet, that then runs into a mix of charred oak and raw oak tannins at about the same time. It’s not as complex as that sounds, but it’s fun to drink. The light smoke tannin flavor always has me wanting another pour. The problem with these single malts is that almost all of the good ones all become my favorite, in their own way for what they are.
When introducing someone to malt whiskies, I have always started with Glenlivet 12 year old for its clean taste and as a safe start. This, 12 year old double oak, however is pure nectar, deliciously smooth with not a hint of harshness, beautifully mellow with hints of vanilla and honey. Try this as a first whisky and many others will be a disappointment. Haven't visited the distillery personally for over 40 years (when it was free) but would still highly recommend a tour.
I’m no expert so I read all the reviews before buying this (discounted in a supermarket)... very excited to try it and to enjoy all these apparently amazing flavours... but oh how dull. I got ‘basic scotch’ as a taste, no honey, no fruit, no wood. I’ll use it as a base for mixers but I won’t buy any more G products, this is the second from them that has left me cold and disappointed. I have decanted the rest of the bottle to see if some air will develop it, I’ve tried with water and ice and just neat... still nothing exciting. Sorry to those who seem to love it.
It has a smooth and silken fruity taste
