I bought a bottle at Heathrow in 2005. Smoothest whiskey I’ve ever tasted.

initially an Export/Duty Free item I bought 2 bottles in 2005 at ?30 each. One was consumed, joyously, while the other set aside for 'who knows when'. On visiting the distillery last year I went into the 'cellar' and understand why this 1st fill whisky has a slightly sea salt note - the building looks over the firth but has no door on it so the air becomes integral. If only it were still ?30. Those in the know tell me it fetches (when you can find it which is rarely) it is many times that and rising. Its smooth and clean character makes this an exceptional bottle which is unlikely to leave you disappointed.

Bought this back in 2005 or thereabouts, It's been with others I've collected until now. What a wonderful Whiskey! Now, like my Madeira Cask Balvenies it is no longer available - but at least I stocked up on those!

I bought 2 bottles of this back at the distillery back around 2005 or 2006. I gave 1 to a friend as a wedding gift the other I shared with my dad, his words were it's smoother than wine. My dad's dead now but I still got that memory.
