Product Description

A 17-year-old single malt from Craigellachie that was initially matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, before half of the mix is finished in first-fill sherry casks and the rest in first-fill bourbon casks. The result is aromas of vanilla, dried pineapple, mango and classic Craigellachie malt that fill the nose, complemented by notes of creamy cereals, vanilla pods, black liquorice and charred oak throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.

    Mikael,

Well balanced and tasty. A surprise.

    Dr J,

This is a surprise and a joy. The Craigellachie spirit is often too sulfury for my tastes, but this is an amazingly balanced, and well-crafted dram. The cask balance is perfect, a mixture of malt and sweet and spice... it is not dominated by any, but luxurious in each. It blows away the 13 year and I only wish my bottle was more full. The nose is a spectrum of fruits with a hint of oak, but on the palate the oak is glorious and mostly manifest as spices from the kitchen... a hint of ginger and curry, peaches and plums, cinnamon toast, a bit of coconut and maple syrup... and a gushing backbone of maltiness. Way too drinkable...

    Dr J,

Rarely have I been privileged to try such a stunning, yet balanced dram. Craigellachie is often to sulfury for me, yet this whisky is divine, and balanced so well as to be nearly indecipherable. The heart of the whisky is a perfect balance of sherry and bourbon casks, sweet and spicy, with only a hint of ancient wood. Fruits and winter spices, but sung throughout with strong barley and breakfast breads... more, please. I feel lucky.

    Stuart A,

Very impressed, very smooth and I enjoy the touch of sweetness. And a tad bit of smoke..very easy to drink , no burn. Very good , if u enjoy Hibiki, or Monkey Shoulder's, this is far superior.

    Ady .S,

A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
