Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Nose
Creamy, with appealing savoury notes of cured meat and even a touch of horseradish, with some subtle smoke lurking in the background.
Palate
Soft mouthfeel of gentle peat and a touch of menthol, with clove, apple and pear.
Finish
The gently warming peat slowly dissipates.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Colour
Light honey.
Nose
Heather Honey with hints of cinnamon and toffee bonbon. Very subtle hints of peat smoke.
Palate
Creamy vanilla spice gives way to more overt smoky charcoal notes, especially with the addition of water. Smoke doesn't dominate and is balanced by the sweet honey and spice flavours.
Finish
Full bodied, silky mouth feel with a (trademark Ardmore) dry, tangy and lingering aftertaste, coupled with delicious spice notes.

At a knockdown price of £20.00 from Asda, I took a chance on this lightly peated single malt whisky. On first tasting I found it quite pleasant & smooth but with a little harsh after taste. The overall flavour of the whisky tended to dissipate from the palate quite quickly on tasting. I wouldn't wan't to pay any more than this, but I quite enjoyed drinking it.
Needs a dash of water to mellow it a bit and about as smokey as Iike to go. Often on offer in T*sco which makes it good value. Won't be to everyone's tase but well Worth a try.
This is typical of every NAS whisky out there. Tastes of high grade ethanol and little else. What is the point in producing such young nasty rubbish?
A really superb whisky, especially when it's on offer. I stocked up.
A very passable Highland for the money(£18).Peaty,spicy and not too complicated just right for sipping.
