Balvenie 12 Year Old Triple Wood is aged in three types of wood – traditional refill casks, first-fill bourbon barrels and first-fill oloroso sherry butts. The whisky is married together for the final six months prior to bottling to allow the flavours to integrate – a complex, sweet and spicy whisky.

I loved it! After it touches the tongue seems a glenfiddich 12 all the way (green apple) seconds later it develops into walnut and the aftertaste its kind of dark chocolate cigar!

I dislike whisky or I did until my father left me this in his will. What a lovely drink. Went out and bought a full bottle. It has a mild taste, not the harsh taste of most whisky's. Sit back and enjoy.

Sipping it 3 different ways brings out the natural hidden tastes .. 1 straight.. 1 with a single drop of water and 1 on solid unmelted ice .. perfect with all 3 sips.. now that is crafstmanship

When I rate a product, it's taste and emotion. This dew is heavenly. It's when your boss tells you that you deserve a raise, or you have a new account or have been promoted. This is the stuff that is the caps the deal. Don't forget a great cigar, a great meal and a lady that appreciates the effort. Let this great single malt wash over you that will enable you to fight through the awful President, the manager of the local watering hole, or the idiot that almost wrecked your car. Relax and enjoy a glass. You deserve it.

A cask too far for me. Perhaps I was expecting too much as I am a great fan of Balvenie malts (the 21 year old Port Wood I had last year as a birthday treat was 'nectar of the gods' stuff) but I found this bland compared to the (cheaper) Double Wood or Single Barrel. It is as if the three casks have cancelled each other out and in doing so taken away the character of the whisky. Disappointed.

Pure bliss. This is truly a rich bastards whiskey (look at the price). it's fall time and as the leaves fall down along while you drive in your Lexus to find this whisky waiting in your mansion, like a beautiful lady. Unbelievably smooth, hints of fall, nutmeg, cinnamon, honey, leaves, maple syrup...that's just a few of the many wonderful flavors you will explore. Highly recommend

Normally, I would not pay the price tag that Balvenie are asking for this malt, but in this case it's well and truly worth it. I would honestly class this as one of the finest, smoothest malt whiskies that I have had the pleasure of tasting. Simply stunning richness and an absolute treat. Would highly recommend you try this if you haven't already!

Stunning, soft spice, then honeycomb coats the mouth with a glorious and expanding burst of favour. Finish is long and faintly sweet. I give it a 92/100.
