    Dave,

I did a blind taste test between this, a range of el dorado's, doorly's, zacapas, diplomaticas and some others, and this one seriously suprised me. Overall I gave it a 7/10, and thought what I was tasting was the el dorado 21! Aroma of caramel and toffee popcorn. It was quite "funky"... I can't put my finger on it! In the tasting, this was very strong, with maple syrup being the first note to pop up followed by a bitterness of carbon and a fruitiness of hops. The body would suit a cigar, with tobacco and spicy notes Brilliant for the price. Not the BEST rum I've ever tasted.

    Charlie S.,

Have been drinking this for several years now. Best rum I have had. I had the occasion when the ship I was on made a call to Hong Kong. There was a ship of the Royal Navy in as well. Got and invitation and went aboard and got to partake of the Rum which was very good ( Alcohol is Verboten on U.S. Ships ). To bad they stopped that tradition. This rum is equally as good. I also have the 15 year old stuff, but haven't opened that bottle.
