A special bottling of Edradour at 15 years of age, named The Fairy Flag in celebration of the Scottish feature film of the same name. This has classic sherried notes of dark chocolate and Christmas cake.

My order to the U.S. arrived in perfect condition. It only took 6 business days - very fast! I was very glad to discover The Whisky Exchange on the Internet. My wife and I recently returned from a 3-week vacation in Scotland. One of the highlights of our trip was a tour of the Edradour distillery, where we purchased a bottle of Fairy Flag 15-year Scotch. Of all the whiskies we brought home from Scotland to try (and we brought home quite a few!), this one quickly became our favorite. FF has sweet, but not cloyingly so, overtones and a long finish. Somewhat similar to Usquebach, but no peat (our preference) and, of course, Fairy Flag is a single malt, not a blend. An amazing taste with just the right amount of smoothness, but not too soft. Try eating a small piece of dried fruit, like mango, before your first sip. It brings out even more flavor! Fairy Flag is a truly fine whisky at a reasonable price. All this writing leads me to a story... With Fairy Flag, a new tradition was born in our home. Every Sunday evening my wife and I would drink a dram or two of Fairy Flag while watching Outlander on television. Fairy Flag enhanced our viewing experience as we enjoyed seeing the landscapes, castles and scenery we’d visited during our trip being used for various scenes occupied by Jamie and Claire. The current season of Outlander has ended, but we’ve extended our tradition to include watching The Crown on Netflix. In fact, any U.K. show, including BBC news, will now include a taste of Fairy Flag. I’ll be buying more bottles soon to ensure there’s plenty available on our shelves for television viewing.

Shhh...one of the best kept secrets in the scotch world. A few drops of water like Ryan said and it really opens up beautifully. So many scotches have an appetizing nose but not the taste to match. Not this one. Delicious no matter which way you go at it.

A big dense Sherry bomb, one of my favorites. A few drops of water and the palate explodes, nutty, citrusy, sweet, Christmas cake and stewed dark fruits, I always keep an open bottle and one in reserve.
