Product Description
An easy-drinking Talisker, taking the distillery's classically rugged character and softening it out, while maintaining the smoky and sweet notes the distillery is known for. More approachable, but still definitely Talisker.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes by Stuart P
-
Nose
Rich notes of stewed apple and pear with some treacle toffee and hint of marzipan. There’s some subdued smoke puffing away in the background along with cured meat and a touch of liquorice. Much more approachable than the 10yo.
-
Palate
Ah, this is Talisker, all right … there’s that trademark punch of black and pepper and smoke, accompanied by stone fruits and a rich, mouthfilling texture.
-
Finish
On the short side, with the smoke outlasting the fruit.
-
Comment
Definitely the little brother of the 10yo, this is a baby Talisker that wants to be taken seriously, even if it doesn’t quite have the brawn and muscle of its elder sibling.

-
Nose
Green apple and conference pear at the front, with brine at the rear and a hint of nutmeg.
-
Palate
Waxy texture with sweet smoke, green apple and a hint of tar.
-
Finish
The fruit disappears leaving a dry smoky finish.

Producer's notes
-
Appearance
Bright 18 carat gold with polished copper lights.
-
Nose
Starts gently with the glorious citrus-sweetness of fresh oranges. A touch of water tames the spice and smoke, but the aroma remains maritime.
-
Body
Medium yet softly textured.
-
Palate
Soft and sweet at first with very light smoke.
-
Finish
Long and warming, yet also fresh, with a big, peppery finale and a late trace of sweet smoke.

I am new to whiskey as I always didn't understand what it was all about but started trying it properly a few months back with a little water and now I am a convert. Since my first whiskey appreciation experience 3 months ago I have bought several bottles and tried several others and have to say the Talisker Skye is probably my favorite. I think at the price I will probably always have one on the shelf. I found it beautifully smooth(first one I enjoyed neet), a little smokey with a nice lingering taste on the pallet and quiet warming. I bought a bottle of Taliker 10 as I liked the Skye so much but the Skye for me was better.

Saw this at £23 in Tesco with my clubcard. I love 10yr old Talisker so thought I’d give it a try. Amazed to see the negative comments on here. I found it to be a classic Talisker, Smokey, Peaty and that unmistakeable after taste. No hint of ‘TCP’ at all. Granted, it’s not a 10yr old but Whisky is and always will be a very personal experience and we’re all different but at less than £25 a bottle it’s worth trying. Be interested to see what you think……

Mind blowing taste! Tried it- love it!
-
I came across this when we were on vacation in Scotland. We went to the distillery and bought my first bottle. Absolutely love it and it reminds me of our trip over there.
-
God awful... I love Talisker but this tastes like drinking diesel and, for me at least, is actually undrinkable.
