Product Description
We're big fans of Glendronach at TWE, so were delighted to be offered this single cask. Aged for 19 years and bottled from a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon, this is big and bold yet well integrated. The sherry sweetness is balanced by espresso-like bitterness and a rich mouthfeel. Another stunning single cask from this highly regarded distillery.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Nose
Big, big aromas of juicy raisins and sultanas along with dark chocolate, rum and espresso. There’s some marzipan in there, too, as well as candied mixed peel, honey and malty cereal. Very plush, ripe and comforting.
Palate
As expected, a rich hit of dried fruit, especially raisins, but accompanied by toasty cinnamon, hazelnuts and Demerara sugar. There’s some welcome espresso bitterness to counteract the sweetness, with some rum-like depth to add weight. Generous mouthfeel.
Finish
The rich raisin note persists, fading slowly along with the mocha and spice.
Comment
Unapologetically full-flavoured, this really shows off the quality of the cask it was aged in, while the spirit is rich and robust. This would be ideal served alongside crème brûlée.

Pretty good maybe a little disappointing given the price. I think I must not be that hot on sherry casks. I do like the bitterness on this but the finish is fairly short. I would say this is a notch below HP18 and Glengoyne21
This is a treat - and there''s no mistaking the sweet, fruity flavours - like chocolate and dates and honey. This is a big, full, rich whisky. One to savour.
