Tasting Notes by Stuart P
-
Nose
Classic Dalwhinnie aromas of flowers, honey and green fruit – apples and fresh pair. Clean and precise. Nice honeyed warmth, too.
-
Palate
Very soft on the palate, with slightly warming honeyed fruit. Soothing texture, with light floral notes mingling with soft fruits and just a touch of spice.
-
Finish
Soft spice and sweet honey.

Comment
Dalwhinnie makes enchanting, easy-drinking drams. Winter’s Gold is in the same vein as the stands 15yo, with soft fruit and gentle heather-honey notes. Very approachable and satisfying.

Loved it. Very smooth. Great flavor.
-
Yes. The Winter Gold was fabulous! It went down smoothly, and then had a comfortable warm glow that was awesome. The people at the distillery were incredibly wonderful! We had a great time the and loved the whiskey. Can’t for my bottle of Winter Gold to arrive at my home in upstate New York!

-
A lovely whisky. Normally out of my price range, I buy it when it is on offer.

This is a lovely tipple. I always buy a bottle to take a small flask when I walk the dog at this time of year. To the snobs who like the taste of parrafin, some drams are perfectly lovely because they taste nice, like this one. Single malts dont need to have the same effect as licking a battery to be pleasant.
