Product Description
Glen Scotia Double Cask starts its life in first-fill bourbon barrels, before being finished for a further 12 months in sherry casks formerly used for Pedro Ximenez sherry. Expect a classic Campbeltown profile, with notes of spicy fruit, toffee, fudge and vanilla.
What I love is that this dram is about simple, straightforward pleasure. There’s a lick of smoke that keeps this crème brûlee of a malt balanced and interesting enough to keep coming back to. Oliver James McKinley, The Whisky Exchange

I like it! Grandiose finish, sweet of course. It´s worth it Nice Campbeltown issue.

Pure Campbeltown funk all over the nose and funk all else.Palate is just a subdued mish-mash of flavours.Actually the Camp. harbour had a better palate even at 40abv.It was very tropical indeed2.75/5

It’s a whisky well made clearly in quality casks. Others at this price don’t compete.

This was the first Glen Scotia I had. 60 dollars US at the liquor store so I gave it a try. I had read some bad reviews on Glen Scotia, so I had actually avoided it for several months. It was very good. Not 5 star whisky, but a solid value. Solid mouthfeel. I can't really pin down the taste. I didn't detect any peat. It was fruity and creamy with vanilla notes. Medium length finish. I want to say it tasted like Balvenie Doublewood but not as refined or complex, but with a heartier texture. So the flavor wasn't quite as good, but the texture kinda made up ground. I don't see how you could be disappointed for the price.
