  • Tasting Notes by The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose:

Buttery pastry and spiced apple with mango, pineapple, hazelnuts and white chocolate.

    • Palate:

Sweet cream, sultanas, grapes, apples and pears, unripe mango and dried papaya.

    • Finish:

Waxed fruit, unripe mango and chocolate, fading to a sweet and spicy end.

  • Tasting notes by Billy A

    • Nose:

Buttery pastry and gently spiced, cooked apple. The fruity note continues with a little bit of mango and pineapple, as well as hazelnuts and white chocolate.

    • Palate:

Lots of sweetness, with milk and white chocolate poured over a bowl of dried and fresh fruit – sultanas and sweet grapes, apples and pears, unripe mango and dried papaya. The sweetness is quite intense, but there’s also a little bit of musky lemon zest and pith, as well as sappy oak and peppery spice.

    • Finish:

Waxed fruit, unripe mango and a bit of chocolate, fading through cream to a sweet and spicy end.

    • Comment:

Quite sweet, but with a whole fruit bowl to balance that out. Make sure to leave it for a few days after opening to allow the fruity flavour to develop.

I liked it. A very pleasant taste to end a great Xmas day when I've finished the washing up and everyone's having a snooze - introduced to me by Andrew at the whisky shop Stamford Bridge, Yorkshire. After a few lil nips Xmas day I will be calling back for another bottle for my collection . Savour the flavour! Kev

Tried this after reading several positive comments on various media outlets. Must say I was’t disappointed by this one and it is a very interesting dram with loads of layers & character. Being non chill filtered this lifts the flavours and a really pleasant whisky. A delightful find.

Appearance - dark gold/mahogany. Legs, thick and slow running, oily and waxy. Nose - spicy, sweet, slight background smoke from syringol in recharred barrels, Cereal, malty, caramel, vanilla, Palate - salty, spices clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, sweet, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, candy, maple syrup. Strong malty cereal. Finish - medium length, spices prominent with vanilla and caramel. Sweetness of the American white oak barrels even if recharred comes out. Conclusion - reasonable value for money. Nice enough.

Hmm. It's a bit bumpy. Not a favorite but it's lightly smoked with a bit of sweetness.

Another suprise from Loch Lomond, very fruity and complex, a bit harsch but in a positive way, one of my favourites this year.
