Jameson Caskmates sees the reuse of old whiskey barrels. Nothing new in that, but in between, they've been used to age stout from Cork's Franciscan Well brewery. This has added notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch to this classic Irish whiskey.

    This is decent drop, not getting all the flavour profiles stated but definitely has a decent lengthy mocha finish, good/pleasant bottling.

    I'm newer to Whisky and have tended to be more on the Bourbon side of things. I picked up the sample pack which had 1 each of the standard Jamo, IPA edition and the Stout. By far I prefer the Stout. Went out and bought a bottle and am enjoying it immensely.

    A Scotch Enthusiast,

    Hits well above its weight class. The stout cask rings loud and clear with this whiskey. The strong flavors of milk chocolate and coffee are present from nose to finish. Certainly an unorthodox whiskey and perhaps too pungent for some, I give it credit for being able to bring such unique flavor while still being dangerously smooth.
