Product Description
This iconic and well aged Islay single malt is a deep, dry, bold and complex cult classic. With Lagavulin producing among the most heavily peated of all Islay whiskies, the flagship in its range is not for the faint-hearted, but it inspires fanatical devotion in its many followers for its vibrant array of flavours mingling with the smoke, from toffee to citrus and plenty more besides.
There's a very good reason why this is a gateway whisky for so many people – despite the heavily peated style, it's so well integrated that after some time in the glass, all the other flavours open up. Absolutely delicious. Mike Gibson, The Whisky Exchange

Comment
Lagavulin is a classic example of how smoke isn't a blunt instrument that covers everything in a fog, but an element that works with all the flavours produced in distillation and maturation. Lagavulin isn't 'smokey,' its peat moves into a weird territory of Lapsang Souchong tea and pipe tobacco, fishboxes and kippers. It smells of laurel and light cereal, but is always sweet. The palate shows more creosote, with hints of kelp and a little touch of iodine. Complex.

Wow! A birthday gift from my sons. Totally amazing
A truly stunning whisky, absolutely incredible. I sit here, looking at the Trondheim fjord bathing in the summer night sun, sipping Lagavulin. It can’t be beat.
Ron Swanson can't be wrong
I don't often write reviews but this has quickly become one of my all-time favourite whiskys. Dangerously smooth with a nice big hit of peat (which I'm usually not a fan of). Plenty of body and some nice citrus notes. Highly recommended!
Amazing with Pipers cheese crisps
