    • Nose

      Rich and spicy, almost Cognac like, with aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, barrel char and fresh black pepper, with some toffee and vanilla sweetness.

    • Palate

      Quite punchy, with sweet spice, more cinnamon and nutmeg, vanilla sugar and toast and spice from the oak. Rich mouthfeel.

    • Finish

      Rich and sweet, with the spicy oak notes lasting longest.

    • Comment

      Very easy-drinking, this has plenty of sweet spice but the robust character adds some welcome bite to balance things out.

    Michael,

    Hadn't noticed that this was a Bacardi bottle when I ordered it (not especially high thoughts on Bacardi products), but this surprised us. I agree wholeheartedly with Pete. Beautiful bottle, smooth taste (not much of a bite which is something I appreciate). Having said that, if you haven't tried Goslings Family Reserve, then, as far as I'm concerned, you've missed the Rum by which I measure all others.
